This Code of Good Agricultural Practice was development by the Malaysian Palm Oil Board with the object of providing guidelines in the production of good quality palm fruits. This Code of Good Agriculture Practice identifies the proper procedures in the processing, handling and storage of palm fruits, as well as the maintenance of the facilities and equipment to ensure that the products are in a safe hygienic environment.
This Code of Good Agriculture Practise is based on the current Malaysian Standard for Good Agriculture Practice (GAP) – Part 2: Oil Palm (Elaeis Guineesis Jacq). This Code of Good Agriculture Practice taken into account some of the constraint encountered by the producer of the fruit bunches without compromising the quality, safety and suitability of the product, crude palm oil, for human consumption.
It must be emphasized that compliance with this Code of Good Agriculture Practice does not itself confer immunity from legal obligations.
